Applications are now open for the second edition of the Balkan International Youth Summit for Peace 2026, an international gathering that brings together young leaders, students, practitioners, civil society representatives, and peacebuilders from around the world.
Following the successful first edition, which welcomed more than 120 participants from over 33 countries, the Summit will once again transform Mitrovica into a platform for dialogue, cooperation, intercultural exchange, and youth-led action.
WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

The Summit is open to young people aged 18–35 who are interested in peacebuilding, leadership, civic engagement, and intercultural dialogue.
We welcome applications from:
• Youth activists and volunteers
• NGO and civil society representatives
• Young journalists and media practitioners
• Youth workers and community leaders
• Researchers, academics, and aspiring diplomats
• Students and young professionals
• Peacebuilding and development practitioners
All selected participants will be accommodated at Hotel Palace & Spa, Mitrovica during the official Summit dates.
The organizing committee will provide:

✓ Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
✓ Participation in all Summit activities
✓ Conference materials
A participation fee of €300 is required from all selected participants unless otherwise covered through a financial support package.
To ensure that motivated young people from diverse backgrounds can participate in the Balkan International Youth Summit for Peace 2026, the Organizing Committee offers a limited number of financial support opportunities.
The standard participation fee for BIYSP 2026 is €300 per participant.
Applicants may choose one of the following participation categories:
• Fully Funded Participation – covers the Summit participation fee in full.
• Partially Funded Participation – covers a portion or a specific percentage (%) of the Summit participation fee.
• Self-Funded Participation – the participant covers the full Summit participation fee independently.
The selection process for financial support is competitive and based on the quality of the application, motivation, potential contribution to the Summit, and available funding.
For participants arriving through Prishtina International Airport, YSP Balkan will organize scheduled transportation to Hotel Palace & Spa, Mitrovica on 01 October 2026.
The cost of the airport transfer is €15 per person.
Participants wishing to use this service will be able to indicate their interest during the registration process and will receive further instructions prior to arrival.
